To ensure the feasibility and the health of the sacrificial animals, The Ministry of Agriculture has prepared to deploy monitoring teams, who will begin their duties two days before and three days after the Idul Adha.
A total of some one thousand and two hundred technical monitoring officials will enforce the teams which include officials from the farmery directorate general, the provincial offices and volunteers. Veterinary public health director Turni Rusli Syamsudin remarked that the deployment of the monitoring teams has been cunducted annually.
The aim is to ensure that the slaughtering of the sacrifice animals will meet all requirements, healthy, safe and comply with the Islamic laws. Seventy four veterinarians will be deployed in the central team which covers the greater Jakarta area.
In this area the number of sacrifice animals is projected to be similar to last year of which the figures include thirty two thousand ( 32,000 ) cows and buffalos and some one hundred and thirteen thousand ( 113,000 ) goats and lambs.
